Pride and Prejudice DVD
Pride and Prejudice DVD - which version is better?
I just love the Pride and Prejudice DVD based on the story by Jane Austen. I have to confess that our dog's name is Bingley and his brother's name is Darcy - yes, named after the characters in Pride and Prejudice!
But I am finding it hard to decide which version I like better - the 1995 Pride and Prejudice miniseries version (starring Colin Firth as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet) or the 2005 movie (starring Matthew Macfadyen as Mr Darcy and Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet).
You have opportunity to have your say a little further down this page.
Pride and Prejudice miniseries DVD
The Pride and Prejudice miniseries first aired on television in the autumn (fall) of 1995. It was an instant hit. Each of the 6 episodes was watched by over one million viewers. And when the first videos of the miniseries went on sale, they sold out in two hours. To watch the whole show, you will need to set aside about six hours. The storyline of the miniseries remains reasonably true to the book with a few embelishments.

Pride and Prejudice movie DVD
The 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie is much shorter than the miniseries - only about two hours. Obviously to make it so much shorter than the miniseries, some sections of the original novel (and even some characters) had to be missed out. But this is still a delightful rendition.
